Our school is situated in the rural village of Penmachno, near Betws-y- Coed in the county of Conwy, and serves the village and the surrounding area. The school is designated as a Welsh- medium school in accordance with the Education Authority’s language policy. This means that Welsh is the main medium of the life and work of the school and seeks to ensure that pupils are fully bilingual by the time they transfer to the secondary sector. Foundation Phase: 3-8 years. Key Stage 2 class: 8-11 years. Our mission is that EVERY child attending Ysgol Penmachno has the best possible start, and a solid foundation according to their needs, in a happy, comfortable, inspiring and challenging environment, by receiving the best possible education and a wide range of experiences and opportunities. All this to ensure that they reach their full potential and develop their language and mathematical skills, to be confident, independent and successful learners.
